Sa construction remonte au XVIIe si\u00e8cle apr\u00e8s JC, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment en 1621 apr\u00e8s JC. Cet \u00e9difice se compose d&#8217;une mosqu\u00e9e et d&#8217;un petit mausol\u00e9e surmont\u00e9 de deux coupoles blanches. Les deux d\u00f4mes sont construits dans un style marocain, entour\u00e9s de fen\u00eatres vers leurs bases pour laisser entrer la lumi\u00e8re. Le grand d\u00f4me apporte de la lumi\u00e8re dans la mosqu\u00e9e, tandis que le petit est situ\u00e9 au-dessus du tombeau du saint, Sidi Abdel Rahman al-Tha\u00e2libi.<\/span><\/p><figure id=\"attachment_10515\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10515\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theworldinstamps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Algeria-1984-YT-802.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theworldinstamps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Algeria-1984-YT-802.jpg?resize=300%2C219&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Sidi Abdel Rahman Mosque: Algeria before 1830\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10515\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mosqu\u00e9e Sidi Abdel Rahman : L&#8217;Alg\u00e9rie avant 1830<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">Abd al-Rahman al-<\/span>Tha\u00e2libi\u00a0<span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">est un commentateur et juriste maliki, un mystique, un juriste et un orateur \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re des sunnites de\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acharisme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">l&#8217;\u00e9cole islamique ash&#8217;ari<\/a><span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">. Il \u00e9tait un des plus importants \u00e9rudits de son temps en Afrique du Nord dans la science de l&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation du Coran. Il est devenu c\u00e9l\u00e8bre\u00a0et le nombre de ses disciples a augment\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce qu&#8217;il devienne un symbole de la ville d&#8217;Alger.<\/span><\/p><h2>Naissance et \u00e9ducation<\/h2><p>Cheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Tha\u00e2libi\u00a0est n\u00e9 en l&#8217;an 786 AH (1384 apr\u00e8s JC) dans\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boumerd%C3%A8s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la r\u00e9gion de Boumerdes<\/a>. Il y grandit et re\u00e7oit sa premi\u00e8re \u00e9ducation aupr\u00e8s des lettr\u00e9s de <a href=\"https:\/\/theworldinstamps.com\/?p=3096&amp;lang=fr\">la kabylie<\/a>. Plus tard, il a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 avec son p\u00e8re \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Casbah_d%27Alger\">la Casbah d&#8217;Alger<\/a> puis au Maroc, o\u00f9 il a re\u00e7u son \u00e9ducation dans les fondements de la religion et de la jurisprudence Maliki. Puis il retourna s&#8217;installer dans <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/B%C3%A9ja%C3%AFa\">la ville de B\u00e9ja\u00efa<\/a>, o\u00f9 il apprit aupr\u00e8s de plusieurs de ses cheikhs. Il s&#8217;y consacre \u00e0 l&#8217;enseignement et \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9criture et commence \u00e0 donner ses cours dans la Grande Mosqu\u00e9e de <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alger\">la ville d&#8217;Alger<\/a>. Il a aussi\u00a0 \u00e9t<span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">\u00e9 charg<\/span><span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">\u00e9 de donner\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);\">le sermon du vendredi.<\/span><\/p><p>L&#8217;imam al-Tha\u00e2libi a \u00e9t\u00e9 prolifique, car il a laiss\u00e9 plus de quatre-vingt-dix livres. Ses livres portaient sur l&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation, les hadiths, le mysticisme, la jurisprudence, la langue, l&#8217;histoire et autres.<\/p><h2>Son d\u00e9c\u00e8s<\/h2><p>L&#8217;imam al-Tha\u00e2libi est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 la mi-mars 1471 (correspondant au Ramadan 875 AH) et a \u00e9t\u00e9 enterr\u00e9 dans le cimeti\u00e8re adjacent \u00e0 la mosqu\u00e9e qui porte son nom dans la Casbah d&#8217;Alger. Apr\u00e8s sa mort, son \u00e9cole (<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zaou%C3%AFa_(%C3%A9difice_religieux)\">Zaouia en arabe<\/a>) a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 enseigner, \u00e9duquer et confirmer les \u00e9l\u00e8ves, en s&#8217;appuyant sur l&#8217;ordre soufi Qadiri.
