This month could be of 29 or 30 days depending on when the new moon is visible.\u00a0<\/p><h2><i>Fasting rules<\/i><\/h2><p>During this month Muslims abstain from eating, drinking,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #181818; font-family: open-sans, sans-serif; letter-spacing: 0.8px;\">smoking and sexual activity\u00a0<\/span>from dawn to sunset.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #181818; font-family: open-sans, sans-serif; letter-spacing: 0.8px;\">They are also supposed to avoid impure thoughts and bad behaviour.<\/span><span style=\"color: #181818; font-family: open-sans, sans-serif; letter-spacing: 0.8px;\">\u00a0<\/span>The month ends with a three-days feast called Eid-Al-Fitr. The sick and elderly, along with travellers, pregnant women and those who are nursing are exempt.
