L\u2019Egypte a annonc\u00e9 la d\u00e9cision de nationaliser le canal de Suez le 26 juillet 1956, apr\u00e8s 87 ans de creusement et d\u2019exploitation du canal d\u2019importance strat\u00e9gique mondiale.<\/p><h2>Canal de Suez<\/h2><p>Le canal de Suez est une voie navigable artificielle qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 creus\u00e9e en territoire \u00e9gyptien, reliant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mer_M%C3%A9diterran%C3%A9e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la mer M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e<\/a>\u00a0\u00e0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mer_Rouge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la mer Rouge<\/a>. La longueur du canal est de 193 km, partant de Port-Sa\u00efd au nord et se terminant \u00e0 Port Tawfiq au sud. Le canal est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le passage maritime le plus rapide entre l\u2019Asie et l\u2019Europe, \u00e9conomisant en moyenne environ 15 jours de temps de trajet par rapport \u00e0 la route du\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cap_de_Bonne-Esp%C3%A9rance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cap de Bonne-Esp\u00e9rance<\/a>.<\/p><h2>creuser le canal de Suez<\/h2><p>Apr\u00e8s plusieurs tentatives,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferdinand_de_Lesseps\">l\u2019homme politique fran\u00e7ais Ferdinand de Lesseps<\/a>\u00a0parvient en 1854 \u00e0 convaincre\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mohamed_Sa%C3%AFd_Pacha\">le gouverneur ottoman, Muhammad Sa\u00efd Pacha<\/a>, de lui accorder une concession pour creuser le canal et l\u2019exploiter pendant 99 ans. Le gouvernement \u00e9gyptien s\u2019est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 fournir 80 % des ouvriers n\u00e9cessaires au creusement du canal et \u00e0 c\u00e9der tous les terrains n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 cet effet \u00e0 l\u2019entreprise fran\u00e7aise qui a obtenu la concession. Le creusement du canal a dur\u00e9 dix ans, de 1859 \u00e0 1869. Le projet le plus important \u00e9tait la construction du Haut Barrage pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 du pays. Mais l\u2019\u00c9gypte a \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9e au refus de la Banque mondiale, de la Grande-Bretagne et des \u00c9tats-Unis d\u2019Am\u00e9rique, de contribuer au financement de la construction.<\/p><p>En raison de ce rejet international,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theworldinstamps.com\/?p=2952&amp;lang=fr\">le pr\u00e9sident \u00e9gyptien Gamal Abdel Nasser<\/a>\u00a0a pris la d\u00e9cision de nationaliser le canal de Suez. L\u2019objectif \u00e9tait d\u2019utiliser les revenus du canal pour financer la construction du barrage. Le 26 juillet 1956, il pronon\u00e7a sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre phrase de la ville d\u2019Alexandrie : \u00ab La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 internationale du canal de Suez est nationalis\u00e9e en tant que soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9gyptienne \u00e0 actionnariat \u00bb.<\/p><h2>Triple agression ou guerre de Suez<\/h2><p>Apr\u00e8s la nationalisation du canal, la Grande-Bretagne, la France et Isra\u00ebl ont complot\u00e9 pour r\u00e9occuper le canal de Suez. Le complot \u00e9tait qu\u2019Isra\u00ebl attaquerait l\u2019\u00c9gypte, puis la Grande-Bretagne et la France interviendraient pour occuper le canal sous pr\u00e9texte de prot\u00e9ger la navigation internationale.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Crise_du_canal_de_Suez\">L\u2019agression tripartite contre l\u2019\u00c9gypte<\/a>\u00a0a commenc\u00e9 par une attaque isra\u00e9lienne sur la bande de Gaza et le Sina\u00ef le 29 octobre 1956, suivie du d\u00e9barquement des forces fran\u00e7aises et britanniques pour occuper la ville de Port-Sa\u00efd, mais la vaillante r\u00e9sistance populaire et la pression internationale ont conduit \u00e0 la cessation de l\u2019agression et retrait des forces d\u2019agression du territoire \u00e9gyptien.<\/p><h2>Le timbre de la nationalisation du canal :<\/h2><p>En 1956, l\u2019\u00c9gypte a \u00e9mis un timbre-poste d\u2019une valeur faciale de 10 millimes pour comm\u00e9morer la nationalisation du canal.
