Pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les 100 ans du canal de Suez, l&#8217;\u00c9gypte a \u00e9mis un timbre postal.<\/p>\n<h2>Canal de Suez<\/h2>\n<p>Le canal de Suez est une voie navigable artificielle qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 creus\u00e9e en territoire \u00e9gyptien, reliant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mer_M%C3%A9diterran%C3%A9e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la mer M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e<\/a>\u00a0\u00e0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mer_Rouge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">la mer Rouge<\/a>. La longueur du canal est de 193 km, partant de Port-Sa\u00efd au nord et se terminant \u00e0 Port Tawfiq au sud. Le canal est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le passage maritime le plus rapide entre l\u2019Asie et l\u2019Europe, \u00e9conomisant en moyenne environ 15 jours de temps de trajet par rapport \u00e0 la route du\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cap_de_Bonne-Esp%C3%A9rance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cap de Bonne-Esp\u00e9rance<\/a>. Le canal est aussi la fronti\u00e8re entre les continents africain et asiatique.<\/p>\n<h3>La Construction du Canal<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Apr\u00e8s plusieurs tentatives,\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferdinand_de_Lesseps\">l\u2019homme politique fran\u00e7ais Ferdinand de Lesseps<\/a>\u00a0parvient en 1854 \u00e0 convaincre\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mohamed_Sa%C3%AFd_Pacha\">le gouverneur ottoman, Muhammad Sa\u00efd Pacha<\/a>, de lui accorder une concession pour creuser le canal et l\u2019exploiter pendant 99 ans.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; letter-spacing: normal;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theworldinstamps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Egypt-1969-YT798.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"-webkit-user-drag: none; display: inline-block; margin-bottom: -1ex;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theworldinstamps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Egypt-1969-YT798.png?resize=640%2C303\" alt=\"100 years of the inauguration of the Canal\" width=\"640\" height=\"303\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>100 ans de l&#8217;inauguration du Canal. La carte montre l&#8217;ancienne et la nouvelle route de navigation.<span style=\"letter-spacing: normal;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0L&#8217;accord \u00e9tait totalement injuste, car le gouvernement \u00e9gyptien s&#8217;est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 fournir 80% des travailleurs n\u00e9cessaires pour creuser le canal et \u00e0 c\u00e9der tous les terrains n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 cette fin \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise qui a obtenu la concession. Le creusement du canal dura dix ans de 1859 \u00e0 1869. Au cours de ces dix ann\u00e9es, pr\u00e8s d&#8217;un million d&#8217;ouvriers \u00e9gyptiens y particip\u00e8rent. On estime que 30 000 travailleurs \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents sur le chantier \u00e0 tout moment. De nombreux travailleurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recrut\u00e9s de force par le gouvernement pour une p\u00e9riode d&#8217;un mois.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Les salaires des ouvriers \u00e9taient bas et les conditions de travail tr\u00e8s difficiles. Les historiens parlent de dizaines de milliers de travailleurs morts \u00e0 cause de la faim, de la soif, des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies et des mauvais traitements.<\/p>\n<p>Le Canal est inaugur\u00e9 le 17 novembre 1869 lors d&#8217;une f\u00eate somptueuse\u00a0qui a r\u00e9unit plus de six mille convives venus du monde entier.<\/p>\n<h3>La Nationalisation<\/h3>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: 0.5px;\">Moins de 10 ans apr\u00e8s l&#8217;inauguration du canal, l&#8217;\u00c9gypte a d\u00fb vendre ses parts dans la compagnie du Canal de Suez \u00e0 la Grande-Bretagne pour rembourser les dettes.
