He was one of the great poets and writers of the 20th century in the arab world.<\/p><h2>Ealy life and Education<\/h2><p>Omar Abu Risha was born into a wealth and literary family in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manbij\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manbij\u00a0<\/a>in the province of Aleppo.<\/p><p>Omar Abu Risha was born into a wealthy and literary family in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manbij\">the city of\u00a0Manbij<\/a>\u00a0in the Aleppo Governorate. His father, Shafi&#8217; ibn al-Sheikh Mustafa Abu Risha, held prominent official positions during the Ottoman Empire. He was appointed mayor of Manbij and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hebron\">Hebron<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mandatory_Palestine\">Palestine<\/a>, and later in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tripoli,_Lebanon\">the city of Tripoli<\/a> in modern Lebanon. Shafea was a glorified poet. He wrote several poems in elegy for the poet <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ahmed_Shawqi\">Ahmed Shawqi (1868-1932)<\/a>, the poet <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hafez_Ibrahim\">Hafez Ibrahim (1872-1932)<\/a>, and the Libyan nationalist leader, the Mujahid Omar Al-Mukhtar (1858-1931). As for his mother\u2019s side, Omar Abu Risha\u2019s mother, Mrs. Khairallah bint Ibrahim Ali Nur al-Din al-Yashti, was from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestineremembered.com\/Acre\/Acre\/Story12400.html\">the city of Akka (Acre)<\/a> in Palestine. Her father was the leader of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shadhili#:~:text=The%20Shadhili%20Tariqa%20(Arabic%3A%20%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%82%D8%A9,of%20people%20around%20the%20world.\">the Sufi Shadhili Order<\/a>. Mrs. Khairallah used to narrate poetry, especially Sufi poetry. After his graduation, he went to England to study industrial chemistry at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchester.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Manchester<\/a>. During his stay in England, Abu Risha discovered the English and European literature.\u00a0He read the books of some important English and european writers such as Shakespeare, Milton, and the French poet\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Baudelaire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baudelaire<\/a>.<\/p><h2>Early career<\/h2><p>After his return from Europe, he participated in the national movement in Syria during against the French occupation and the British occupation in Palestine. Because of his political activism, he was imprisoned several times. Kennedy in the Oval Office, in 1962.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>After the independance of Syria in 1946, Omar Abu Reisheh became the director of the national library in Aleppo in 1947. Afterwards, he joined the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arabacademy.gov.sy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arab Scientific Academy in Damascus<\/a>\u00a0in 1948. shortly after, like his colleague\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theworldinstamps.com\/?p=6635\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the poet Nizar Qabbani<\/a>, he joined the Syrian diplomatic corp and was apointed as ambassador of Syria in Brazil in 1949. Above all, he held permanently in his mind and heart the love for the homeland and the human being. In addition, the Syrian and Arab history had an important influence on his writings.<\/p><p>In addition to poetry collections, Omar Abu Risha wrote poetic plays, including the play \u201cDhi Qar\u201d in 1931, and \u201cThe Operetta of Torment\u201d in 1935, and later, &#8220;Semiramis&#8221; and &#8220;Taj Mahal&#8221;.<\/p><p>The poet Omar Abu\u00a0Reisheh published his first collection of poetry in 1936, in the city of Aleppo, under the title \u201cPoetry\u201d. he published the second collection entitled \u201cFrom Omar Abu Risha\u201d in Beirut in 1947. He also published a collection of poems in English in 1959, and a poetry collection entitled \u201cI sang at my funeral\u201d published in Damascus in 1971 and many others.<\/p><p>Abu Risha was influenced by Sufi poetry from his mother.
